Get ready for some sass as Julz hits the stage. She brings a quirky dark style to her sets. Keen to mock herself, she makes you laugh at life in all its challenges for the single over 30 year old female.

Julz has been performing extensively for over three years, appearing weekly in comedy shows across Wellington. She’s taken part in NZ International Comedy Festival in 2015, 2016, and NZ Fringe Festival in 2017, regularly hosts Hard Cases and Raw Meat Monday, been the featured comedian at the exclusive show The Menagerie and once opened for Urzila Carlson.

Recently her solo show "What Do I Do With This Dress" was performed in the 2018 NZ International Comedy Festival and the show and Julz herself was nominated for Best Newcomer. How exciting! So she took it to Palmy Fringe Festival and Fringe in the 'Stings.

She is also one of the hosts of the Comedy Parody show Sing It Wrong where comedy and singing collide and create gorgeous hilarity. As a professional singer she brings something different to a comedy stage with songs that will make you cry tears of laughter, expertly performed.

Having a blast making people laugh all over NZ.

CAPITAL COMEDY

Julz also started a comedy network, Capital Comedy Wellington, which helps aspiring comics’ workshop their jokes and offers Master Classes with Comic experts. Capital Comedy also provides comics and events a platform to showcase themselves, connecting them to a wider audience.

As part of this comedy network, Capital Comedy also runs the Open Mic Night Hard Cases, providing a space that encourages first timers to give it a go and helps comics work on their material. This won her the award for “Best Off-Stager” at the 2015 Wellington Comedy Awards and "Best Industry Helper" at the 2017 Wellington Comedy Awards. Capital Comedy is also behind the creation and production of Wellington’s monthly Stand Up Comedy and Improvisation Mashup gig Capital Comedy’s Blindset, which won ‘Best Show Concept’ at the 2015 Wellington Comedy Awards!
